Nice video informative although I’m watching in 2024. I still use my SX2 after a Vinyl DJ start in the early 90s. SX2 I have no reason to upgrade and I would probably upgrade to Tables again and an Alpha-theta rotary mixer. That’s upgrading

It's actually ridiculous to call this a rotary mixer juat becasue it doesn't have a crossfader. That's not what makes a rotary a rotary. ALL (that means 100%) of all rotary mixers DO NOT have volume faders. Period.

I think they have solved that issue. Now they're making DJs pay to play. The thing that gets me is if you're a gamer playing with license software they don't charge them.

It’s 2024 and still no new S4 Controller is out but anyway I bought the S4 MK3 directly from Native Instruments as B-Stock for 550€. I’m pretty sure at the end of year there will be a new hardware coming out but I don’t want to wait this much longer. If new hardware comes out end of year maybe I’ll sell the S4 MK3 and then get the new one. I hope I don’t loose to much money. If I can sell it and just lose around 100 bucks it’s totally ok

As a DJ specializing in drum and bass and techno for over 18 years, I started with vinyl records and later switched to Traktor software. However, after high school, I got residencies at afterhours venues, where I went back to using vinyl or CDJs because I received promotional tracks that were more compatible with those setups. (fatdrop, nomorewords, archer press etc) Interestingly, I now find it amusing that you criticize Virtual DJ, as I currently use it myself. I've experimented with Traktor, Rekordbox, and Ableton, incorporating 4-6 deck blends, MPC sample decks, stamped loops in key, outboard fx pedals and mixes for CD compilations for over a decade and peeped how all of these programs have come and went wether it was fucking up features that were already good or implementing new ones. (I highly doubt any of you niggas remember MixMeister Fusion) The DJ Market is currently undergoing a psychological operation, (LMAO) similar to the situation that occurred in the early 2000s with the engineer game. During that time, many individuals switched to Pro Tools instead of Nuendo, not necessarily because it was superior (due to the 15db issue), but rather because they were INFLUENCED to prefer it. In essence, your mockery of Virtual DJ is comical because it actually outperforms the options you've discussed so far.💩🤣🥱

Preach on the need for a mixer. I do like the my lc with a battle mixer but really want prime mixer with stand alone.

i started out on stanton... then i got a rx... so rekordBx was my new thing and serato was looking old... then i got more equip and and didnt like how rkbx was holding me back from switching around... then i got more prof gear... which was more optioned and had better options with serato... but i still stuck with rkbx... till they went subscription base and keys based and laptop device base... like come on... so now im a serato based with rkbx knowledge... thems stems is it.

I know this is from like 2 years ago but it's kind of funny cuz I'm still using my S4 Mark II and I love it I mean the three would be an upgrade as far as the light going around the jog Wheels I don't know if I really like the mechanical dog wheel spinning around for that I'll just go to work on my turntables you know I have a pair of OEM Audio Technica that I use with face and a 12 year old mixer a Pioneer djm T1 has made for tractor back in the day and that thing is Still rocking still kicking still sounds great great great great great great equipment but I'm a fan of if it ain't broke don't fix it kind of guy I should have never got rid of my techniques back in the day but I did I regretted it ever since if I still had them my Mark II would probably still be jamming today put on the tractor guy I've been messing around with Serato I use both I'm really not fond of Serato in the way it works I'm really used to tractor and machine and I love my Native Instruments stuff so that's just my piece but I just had a comment

Reading a crowd is positively the most difficult & most important thing to being a great dj, doesn't matter the type of event or place your playing at. Weddings are the most difficult events to Dj, absolutely no doubt!!

There is a looong way to go before the actual Dj World makes a complete transition over to any other software than Serato Dj Pro. It's the only software found in almost every Big Dj line up across the world. Many djs use Engine, Tracktor, VDJ, ADjay, or whatever for their personal sets, but use Serato Dj for continuity in big lineups. This is mostly for small & solo acts, and it doesn't matter what you rock on. If I'm the only one in the line up I can use Sl1200s with actual vinyl. A bit harder to do in a Big Line up where working together is critically important.

Received it today, will send it back tomorrow. Very disappointed in the upfaders.... A battlemixer should have replaceable upfaders but that's just my two cents.
